Artist Statement
Thais Oliveira is based in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she has been living since 2019. Born and raised in Brazil, she earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering. In 2025, she decided to change fields and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an artist.

Creative expression has always been part of her identity since childhood. As a self-taught artist, she has always viewed art as a meaningful way to express her deepest emotions and connect with others. To her, art is the most powerful form of communication and self-expression.
Her work explores themes of growth, transformation, and connection, capturing the quiet beauty in everyday moments. Art is the artist's outlet to find mindfulness and serenity. Through her art, viewers are invited to pause and experience the present moment through a personal perspective.
Thais enjoys exploring a variety of media, including watercolor, digital painting, photography, and fiber art. Urban Art Hub is an LLC founded and managed by the artist Thais Oliveira. The LLC is the artist's entity outlet to advertise and market her original artworks, prints, and other creative products.
